History

      Taiwan Vacuum Society (TVS) was established on September 26th, 1986, founded by a group of professionals from all around Taiwan who share a common interest in vacuum technology.

      At TVS, we insist on three goals: creation, service and education. To achieve our goals, we gather our knowledge and experience in vacuum technology and devote to the vacuum technological developments. We provide vacuum-related technical service to academic, industrial and business areas, issue the Journal of Taiwan Vacuum Society periodically, publish textbooks to educate and train talent professionals and engineers with vacuum technology.

Publication of the Journal of Taiwan Vacuum Society

    The TVS released the very first issue of the Journal of Taiwan Vacuum Society in November, 1987 and has been publishing the journal quarterly ever since. It contains a host of aspects of research on vacuum technology, including educational lectures, technology news, industrial and technological reports, research papers, experience exchange, introduction to scientific or technical literature, meeting announcement, etc. The journal won the 3rd and 4th distinguished journal awards honored by National Industrial and Commercial Group's Publication of Mining Industry in Taiwan.

Academic and Technological Seminars

    To implement the idea of serving and educating the society, TVS has hosted numerous seminars every year since its establishment, providing the opportunities for members to exchange and share their thoughts and to introduce fundamental vacuum technology to all.

TVS Database

    To enhance the interchange and communication among domestic and international vacuum technology organizations, TVS built a technical database on vacuum science and engineering in March, 1989, assembling books, journals and archives on seminars and training programs related to the technology. Members enjoy the privilege to retrieve lots of technical information available on the database.
